An air conditioning system cools the air near the ceiling, but without air movement, that cold air often stays up there and the occupied floor stays warm. This geared-motor HVLS fan acts as an assist to the existing AC system. A Nord (Germany) integrated gear-motor spins aviation aluminum-magnesium alloy airfoil blades at roughly 50 rpm (max 55–100 RPM by model), while a Danfoss (Denmark) or ABB (Switzerland) variable-frequency drive controls speed smoothly. The fan pushes cooled air that has accumulated near the ceiling back down to the floor, spreading it into a 1–3 m horizontal air layer at an adjustable 1–5 m/s. Because people feel the extra air movement as cooling, the thermostat can be set higher while comfort stays the same - paired with AC, this fan saves 30%+ energy. A single unit covers 2,000+ m², and dual-row deep groove ball bearings protect the gear oil seal over long, cooling-season hours.
