An EC (electronically commutated) motor ceiling fan pairs a permanent-magnet motor with an electronic controller that commutates the field - the brushless, gearless equivalent of a traditional AC induction fan. The controller is fed by standard industrial mains, 3-phase 380 V or single-phase 220 V at 50/60 Hz, and outputs a smooth sine wave, so start-up and shut-down are gentle and the fan restarts smoothly without a full stop using our speed-tracking technology. High-precision, heat-resistant, heavy-duty silent bearings plus the absence of any mechanical transmission linkage keep the run ultra-quiet, while the aviation aluminum-magnesium airfoil blades drive omni-directional air movement that dries, dehumidifies and breaks up stratification.

An EC package is really an integrated motor-and-controller design, so a buyer is choosing a supplier that can support the electronics behind it.
