The dc motor HVLS fan is driven by a brushless permanent-magnet motor controlled by an electronic variable-frequency controller. Important to understand: the motor runs off standard industrial mains through that controller, not off batteries - the input remains 3-phase 380 V or single-phase 220 V at 50/60 Hz. The electronic controller produces a clean sine-wave output, which gives smooth start and stop with no jerk and enables the speed-tracking restart that brings the fan back up without a full stop. The brushless construction has no mechanical commutator and no gearbox, which cuts wear points and keeps the fan ultra-quiet, while the aviation aluminum-magnesium airfoil blades push omni-directional air movement across the floor.
